The Kaohsiung new station is different from the previous design, starting from the concept of "the heart of Kaohsiung", in response to the hot weather in the south, creating a white and streamlined design with a lot of green vegetation to add valuable public green space, incarnating the lungs of the city. The exterior of the station will be planned as a 6-meter-high canopy dome, with 35,000 square meters of green tree canopies and pedestrian paths on the top floor, as well as an east-west bicycle path, which will connect Zuoying, Kaohsiung and Fengshan in the future. And so on the overall green park road. When the canopy is completed, tourists can enjoy the bustling urban scenery and the green sky garden when they go outdoors. They can also ride bicycles here, from Zuoying all the way to Fengshan, and see the city with high-rise buildings from a height along the way. The landscape also represents Kaohsiung's vision for a sustainable city in the future. The ceiling of Kaohsiung Station is a one-story steel structure with a curved roof. The structure is composed of H-shaped steel beams to form a large-span truss, and round tube steel columns are used as supporting members to form an interconnected structure. Because the overall curved ceiling structure needs to cover a total length of about 600m and a total width of about 340m, if a single structure system is adopted, it will be difficult to overcome the problem of differential load such as temperature difference. Therefore, the structural design is coordinated with the zoning of the underground station body, and the station body is divided into five blocks: "Central Station Area", "North Station Area", "South Station Area", "East Station Area" and "West Station Area".
