Taichung Arena is a dome planned to be built by Taichung City, the Republic of China. It is located in the "Wenzhong Primary School 6" surrounded by Huanzhong Road, Rongde Road, Chongde 19th Road, and Tongrong East Road in the Beitun District's 14th phase rezoning area. ”, adjacent to the Intercontinental Baseball Cultural and Creative Park. Covering an area of 6.9 hectares, the new main stadium and the sub-arena within the construction site have two dome structures with 3 floors above ground and 2 floors respectively, sharing a common structure with 3 floors of underground parking lots. The secondary court is an above-ground type dome, while the main court is a sunken type. The bottom floor of the dome court is located on the 2nd basement floor, which helps to alleviate the impact of the dome on the surrounding skyline. The heights of the two buildings are about 27m and 14m, the basement excavation depth is about 15.5m. The plane size of the main stadium of the Dome is about 135X115 meters and the sub-venues are all large-span roof structures. In order to meet the needs of large-span mechanics and control the visual impact of the dome roof arching, the two venues are equipped with a two-dimensional steel truss system in the flat roof structure space. Visually larger interior volume and visual space. However, in view of domestic design cases, the economic span of the steel truss system is about 60m, and the two-way in this case is about more than 120m. Therefore, it is proposed to use the two-dimensional "composite system of steel truss + steel cable tension string", so that the steel cable structure is suitable for large spans. economy.
