The building of Kaohsiung Port Tourism Center looks like a silver-white ship with a towering chimney. The total floor area is about 80,774 square meters. The upper part is made of steel frame structure, with 15 floors above ground and 2 floors underground. The facilities include an international conference hall, offices, boarding corridors, and passenger entry and exit space. The pier is 726 meters long and has a water depth of 10.5 meters, which can accommodate 2 international cruise ships. The upper structure is designed with steel structure, and the lower structure (ie basement) is designed with RC structure. The ground floor is 1F~3F podium, and the interior is steel frame system; the periphery is steel truss structure system. The structural core is the main structural system, and combined with the peripheral diagonal bracing system to form a complete power transmission system in this area, the low-rise cantilevered structure is mainly supported by the stairway structural core and is constructed by a portal truss group combined with large diagonal bracing. The elevated driveway is designed with a rigid steel frame; the front and rear lanes are designed with a rigid frame structure of single-column circular tubes combined with box-shaped and H-shaped steel, and the central driveway is designed with a rigid frame of steel beams and columns.

結構系統規劃配合美國RUR建築師規劃之3D曲線造型設計,地下2層,地上15層量體之建物,地下開挖10.85m,建物高度約78m。傾斜、扭轉外型之塔樓,外圍佈置旋繞而上之網格梁柱。3組彎弧造型、大跨度空間、尾端騰空懸起之觀景窗平台面向汪洋美景,及一處小型外突觀景窗俯視港岸繁榮。地面1~2層裙樓串聯塔樓及各分支。裙樓屋頂(3FL)植栽負重,地面高低錯落,享受海洋氣息之戶外觀景平台。頗富造型之出入境高架車道與建物本體共構相依。本案集合3D曲線造型、超高建築量體、外傾塔樓斜柱、大跨度無柱空間、超長外挑懸臂結構及負重景觀需求等設計條件。唯一選擇鋼結構設計,以其輕量、高強度、富韌性之優點,加上製造彈性變化、對複雜設計可塑性高、設計變更拆除補強等變化均可強力配合,設計上輔以完美契合建築外型之結構系統,來日終將成為高雄新地標-港埠旅運中心大樓。
